[ Anotasi Abstrak ]
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh kecerdasan emosional terhadap culture shock yang dialami oleh mahasiswa baru Program Studi Psikologi Universitas Trunojoyo Madura yang berasal dari luar Madura angkatan tahun 2013/2014. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif korealsional. Mengambil 43 sampel mahasiswa baru Program Studi Psikologi Universitas Trunojoyo Madura asal luar Madura tahun ajaran 2013/2014 dengan menggunakan simple random sampling. Alat pengumpul data yang digunakan adalah Skala Kecerdasan Emosional terdiri dari 50 butir pernyataan yang dikembangkan dari 5 aspek kecerdasan emosional Goleman dan Skala Culture Shock berjumlah 48 butir pernyataan yang dikembangkan dari 3 dimensi culture shock yang diungkapkan Ward. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analsis regresi sederhana dengan program SPSS 17.0 for window. Dari hasil analisis data diperoleh nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar -0.712 dan koefisien regresi (B) sebesar -0.816 dengan nilai p/sig. sebesar 0.000. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh yang negatif dan signifikan antara kecerdasan emosional dan culture shock pada mahasiswa baru Program Studi Psikologi Universitas Trunojoyo Madura asal luar Madura angkatan tahun 2013/2014.

This research aims to understand there are influences of emotional intelligent toward culture shock that happened by the freshmen of psychology study program from beyond of Madura in University of Trunojoyo Madura, academic year 2013/2014. This research uses correlation quantitative method. Take 43 the freshmen from beyond of Madura in Psychology Study Program academic year 2013/2014 as sample with simple random sampling. The instrument of collecting data that used is Emotional Intelligent Scale totally has 50 items that developed from 5 emotional Goleman’s intelligent aspects and culture shock scale also has totally 48 items that developed from tridimensional of culture shock, according to Ward. The analysis data that used is simple regression analysis with SPSS 17.0 program for window. According to the result of this analysis, it can be got the value of correlation coefficient in the amount in -0.712 and the value of regression coefficient in the amount in -0.816 with the value of p/sig in the amount in 0.000. It show that there are negative and significant influences between emotional intelligent and culture shock in the freshmen of psychology study program from beyond of Madura in university of Trunojoyo Madura academic year 2013/2014.
