This study analyzed antonomasia found in Football Commentary of AFF Cup U-19 2017 in Myanmar by Valentino Simanjuntak; as the source of the data and the writer analyzed the types of antonomasia that appears in Football Commentary, and the functions antonomasia. The data was analyzed and classified based on types of antonomasia and functions of antonomasia proposed by Lehtsalu and Liiv (1973). The purposes of the study are the first to describe the types of antonomasia which have metaphorical antonomasia, metonymic antonomasia, the use of epithet, and meaningful names. And the second to describe the functions of antonomasia which have to characterize a person through his or her name, to create a humorous atmosphere, and to designate class member. The writer used a qualitative method in this study because this design is very suitable to answer the research problem and explain the objectives and significance of this study.. Besides, it tries to find out the types and functions of antonomasia in Football Commentary. Meanwhile, this research used descriptive method since it describes the types and functions of antonomasia and presents the analysis descriptively. The researcher demonstrates types and function of antonomasia found in the video. According to the types of antonomasia, the writer found metaphorical antonomasia 4 data, metonymic antonomasia 7 data, the use of epithet 0 data, and meaningful names 7 data. due to the function of antonomasia, the writer found that they are to characterize a person through his or her name 12 data, to create a humorous atmosphere 5 data, and to designate class member 1 data.
