Seorang pengarang tidak semata-mata menciptakan proses kreatifnya hanya sekedar hasil imajinasinya. Namun, karya sastranya merupakan cerminan masyarakat di sekitarnya. Terdapat konflik sosial yang begitu kompleks dalam Novel Dawuk Kisah Kelabu dari Rumbuk Randu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) Unsur instrinsik yang terkandung dalam novel (2) Konflik sosial yang ada dalam novel. Menggunakan kajian sosiologi sastra. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik deskriptif. Sumber data dalam peneliti ini berupa novel Dawuk, Kisah Kelabu dari Rumbuk Randu Karya Mahfud Ikhwan.Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik baca dan teknik catat. Hasil penelitian ini meliputi yang pertama, unsur instrinsik dan kedua konflik sosial. Pertama, unsur instrinsik yang terdiri dari tema, penohokohan, dan latar. Tema yang terdapat pada novel tersebut yaitu kisah turun-menurun desa Rumbuk Randu. Sedangkan penokohannya terdapat sepuluh tokoh yaitu Warto, Inayatun, Mat Dawuk, Mbah Dulawi, Mat Modar, Sinder Harjo, Pak Imam, Blandong Hasaan dan Mandor Har. Masing-masing tokoh memililiki watak yang berbeda-beda namun tokoh yang paling dominan berperan yaitu Mat Dawuk dan Inayatun karena cerita keluarga mereka merupakan awal dari munculnya konflik sosial yang terjadi. Unsur instrinsik selanjutnya yaitu latar. Latar yang dikaji terdiri dari tiga yaitu latar tempat, latar waktu dan latar suasana. Latar tempat terjadi di desa Rumbuk Randu, warung kopi, rumah kandang, masjid, stasiun kereta api, hutan, puskesmas dan di pengadilan. Latar waktu terdiri dari tiga waktu yaitu dini hari, petang dan sore. Sedangkan yang terakhir yaitu latar suasana yang terdiri dari suasana ricuh, tegang, menakutkan, bahagia dan pilu. Hasil penelitian kedua yaitu mengenai konflik sosial, konflik sosial dari hasil penelitian sesuai pada cerita dalam novel yaitu terdiri dari pertama, konflik sosial karena adanya faktor kekuasaan sesuai dengan teori yang dikemukakan oleh Dahrendorf. Kedua, konflik sosial yang disebabkan adanya suatu emosi sesuai dengan pernyataan William Chang. Ketiga, konflik sosial yang berupa main hakim sendiri yang berakibat pada hancurnya nilai-nilai dan norma sosial yang ada. Keempat, yaitu konflik sosial berupa peristiwa pembunuhan yang disebabkan adanya suatu bentuk kekerasan. Kata Kunci: Unsur Instrinsik, Konflik Sosial

The writer does not merely create her creative process merely as a result of her imagination. However, her literary work is a reflection of the people around her. There is a complex social conflict in the novel of Dawuk Story of Kelabu from Rumbuk Randhu. This research aims to describe (1) the intrinsic elements contained in the novel (2) social conflict in the novel. This research using the theory of sociology of literature. This research using qualitative approach with descriptive technique. The source of data in this research is novel of Dawuk, Story of Kelabu from Rumbu Randhu by Mahfud Ikhwan. Technique of collecting data using reading technique and technique of record. The results of this research include the first, the intrinsic elements and the second, social conflicts. First, intrinsic elements consists of themes, characterizations, and backgrounds. The theme contained in the novel is the story of hereditary village Rumbuk Randhu. While characterizations there are ten figures namely Warto, Inayatun, Mat Dawuk, Mbah Dulawi, Mat Modar, Sinder Harjo, Imam, Blandong Hasan, and Mandor Har. Each character has a different character but the most dominant figure who plays Mat Dawuk and Inayatun because the family story is the beginning of the emergence of social conflict that occurred. The next intrinsic element is the background. The background consists of three namely, backgrounds, time, and atmosphere. Background place occurred in Rumbuk Randhu village, coffee shop, cage house, mosque, railway station, forest, public health center, and in court. The time frame consists of three times, such as morning, evening, and afternoon. While the atmosphere consists of chaotic atmosphere, tense, scary, happy, and pained. The second research result about social conflict, social conflict from result of research according to story in novel that is consist of first, social conflict because existence of power factor according to theory proposed by Dahrendrof. Second, social conflict caused by an emotion in accordance with William Chang's statement. Third, social conflict in the form of vigilante that resulted in the destruction of existing values and social norms. Fourth, namely social conflict in the form of murder caused by a form of violence. Keywords: intrinsic elements, social conflict.
