This research entitled “The Construction of Women Masculinity in Bella Forrest’s The Gender Game”. The background of this study is gender roles which constructed the masculinity in women. Masculinity that is always associated with men, in practice not always man who looks masculine. In the novel The Gender Game the author shows that masculinity is more visible in women. The female masculinity that is replicated in this study is a form of negotiation that women do in order to be accepted in a male-dominated environment. This study also describes the hybridity of masculinity in male characters that look weaker than women. This study uses qualitative research because the data is the form of word. The writer is the key instrument of this research because she is the only one who conducted all of the process. The data of this study is the characters’ utterances and the author’s narration in The Gender Game. The technique of collecting data is close reading. The technique of analyzing data is data collection, data reduction, data display and conclusion. This study found the fact that female masculinity is much more dominant than male masculinity which describes the hybridity of masculinity shown by one of the male characters in this novel. The hybridity of masculinity seen in this study is men who are weaker than women.
