[ Anotasi Abstrak ]
Deskripsi Lain
Sponges are porous animals that are filter feeders and some species of Demospongiae sponge are a large source of bioactive compounds. The ability of sponges to produce bioactive compounds because of the symbiotic relationship with microorganisms such as fungi. Multi Drug Resistant Bacteria (MDR) are bacteria that have been resistant to two or more classes of antibiotics. This study aims to determine the potential capabilities of the Demospongiae class marine sponge symbionts from Gili Labak Madura Island waters as an antibacterial material for MDR E. coli and Methicilin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Taking sponge samples was carried out in Gili Labak Madura Island and measurements of water quality parameters were carried out which included Temperature, Brightness, Salinity, Potential hydrogen (pH), and Dissolved Oxygen (DO). Laboratory analysis was carried out by isolation and purification of Fungal Symbiont with Sponges, identification of fungal morphology, screening of antibacterial activity of fungi, extraction of potentially antibacterial fungi MDR isolates, activity testing of potential fungal isolates extracts, potential molecular identification of fungi and identification of sponge spicules. The results of this study found fungal isolates symbiosis with sponges (Xestospongia testudinaria, Xestospongia muta and Liosina paradoxa) from the waters of Gili Labak Madura Island which has the potential to inhibit the growth of MDR E. coli and S. aureus bacteria, GL-S1-01, GL-S3 -02 and GL-S3-03. Isolates with code GL-S3-03 have crude extracts that are able to inhibit MDR with inhibitory zones with an average of all the largest concentrations of E. coli with an average of all concentrations of 4.7 mm against E. coli and 3.49 mm against MRSA. The molecular identification of GL-S1-01 isolates was identical to Cladosporium cladosporiodes, GL-S3-02 identical to Aspergillus spelaeus and GL-S3-03 identical to Aspergillus terreus
