Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis Eco-Marxisme, Pastoral, dan Apocalypse di Ernest Cline's Ready Player One. Analisis novel ini menggunakan teori ekokritik yang berfokus pada Eco-Marxisme, Pastoral, dan Apocalypse. Penulis memilih teori ini karena ini adalah studi yang meneliti karya sastra yang berfokus pada ekologi. Maka, penulis mengambil novel yang ditulis oleh Ernest Cline, Ready Player One karena, fokus dari tesis ini adalah representasi alam. Ready Player One menceritakan tentang kehidupan pemilik sebagai IOI sebagai kelas terbesar di dunia, namun keduanya hidup di tempat yang tidak biasa. Wade Watts berasal dari pekerja yang memiliki kemiskinan untuk dijangkau. Kota Oklahoma memiliki tempat tinggal yang lebih baik untuk hidup. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Dengan menggunakan penelitian kualitatif, penulis menganalisa Ecology in Ready Player One Novel karya Ernest Cline: An Ecocriticism Analysis dengan teori Ecocriticism. Penulis penelitian ini mengumpulkan data dengan membaca, menemukan dan mengklasifikasikan ujaran di antara karakter utama dan karakter lain dan narasi penulis yang mendukung pertanyaan penelitian. Hasil dari penelitian ini menyetujui bahwa novel tersebut menggambarkan representasi dystopian yang menerapkan konsep perspektif ekokritisme Greg Garrad, Greg, Gifford, dan Buell. Yang pertama adalah Eco-Marxism yang menggambarkan krisis lingkungan yang disebabkan oleh kepatuhan terhadap peraturan eksploitasi dari manusia ke manusia lain. Yang kedua adalah Pastoral yang ditandai menunjukkan mode kota dan negara. Yang ketiga adalah Apocalypse yang digambarkan tentang penggambaran hari kiamat dan kehancuran kehidupan manusia dan ekologi di sekitar manusia.

This study aims to analyze the Eco-Marxism, Pastoral and Apocalypse in Ernest Cline’s Ready Player One. The analysis of this novel uses the theory of ecocriticism focusing on Eco-Marxism, Pastoral and Apocalypse. The writer chooses this theory because it is the study which examines literary work which focuses on ecology. Thus, the writer takes the novel which is written by Ernest Cline, Ready Player One because, the focus of this thesis is the representation of nature. Ready Player One tells about the living of the owner as IOI as the biggest class in the world, however both live in the unusual places. Wade Watts come from the worker who has the poverty to reach. Oklahoma City have the better residence to live. This study uses descriptive qualitative research. By using qualitative research, the writer analyses Ecology in Ready Player One Novel by Ernest Cline: An Ecocriticism Analysis with Ecocriticism theory. The writer of this study is collecting the data with reading, discovering and classifying the utterances among the main character and the other characters and the author’s narration which support the research question. The result of this study approves that the novel describes the dystopian representation applying Greg Garrad’s Greg, Gifford, and Buell perspectives concept of Ecocriticism. The first is Eco-Marxism which is depicted the environmental crisis is caused by obeying the regulation of exploitation from humans to other humans. The second is Pastoral which is characterise showing the mode of town and country. The third is Apocalypse which is described about the depiction of doomsday and the destruction of the human life and ecology around the human.
