Novel ini dipilih karena menggambarkan gambar Muslim yang tinggal di California. Penelitian ini adalah fokus pada Muslim diaspora yang digambarkan dalam novel. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis Perjuangan diaspora muslim dan karakteristik potret diaspora di Mohja Kahf The Girl In The Tangerine Scarf. Analisis didasarkan pada teori diaspora yang dikemukakan oleh William Safran. Penulis menggunakan desain kualitatif dalam penelitian deskriptif untuk menganalisis. Itu penulis adalah instrumen dan datanya adalah narasi ucapan orang Muslim diaspora dalam novel Kahf The Girl In The Tangerine Scarf. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan langkah-langkah dalam data secara simultan. Hasil penelitian itu mengungkap perjuangan muslim timur tengah diaspora melalui kehidupan karakter utama yang sedang berjuang di antara orang Amerika masyarakat. Ada dua poin utama analisis, (1) perjuangan diaspora muslim timur tengah di Amerika, (2) karakteristik orang-orang timur tengah diaspora muslim, (3) ayah karakter utama, (4) ibu, dan (5) saudara kandung terlibat langsung dalam perjuangan diaspora bahwa potret adalah yang utama karakter. Diaspora Struggles within The Girl in the Tangerine Scarf by Mohja Kahf’s In this research, the writer analyzed the novel by Mohja Kahf entitlrd The Girl In The Tangerine Scarf. The novel was chosen because it portrays the image of Muslim who live in California. This researched was focuson the Muslim diaspora which is portrayed in the novel. The aim of the study is to analyze the strugglesof muslim diaspora and the characteristic of diaspora portrait in Mohja Kahf The Girl In The Tangerine Scarf. The analysis was based on the theory of diaspora proposed by William Safran. The writer usedqualitative design in descriptive research to analyze. The writer is the instrument and the data are the narration utterances of the Muslim diaspora in the novel Kahf The Girl In The Tangerine Scarf. The data collection was done by the steps in data analysissimultaneously. The results of the study expose the struggles of muslim middle-east diaspora through the life of the main character who is struggling among American community. There are two major point of analysis, (1) the struggles of middle- east muslim diaspora in America, (2) th characteristics of those middle-east muslim diaspora, (3) the main character father, (4) mother, and (5) siblings directly involved into the struggles of diaspora that portrait isby the main character.
