Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu menghasilkan instrumen soal HOTS yang valid, praktis dan layak digunakan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan merupakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development). Penelitian ini menggunakan model formative research yang meliputi 2 tahap penelitian yaitu tahap preliminary dan tahap formative evaluation. Tahap formative evaluation terdiri dari tahap self evaluation, expert review, one to one, small group dan field test. Subjek penelitian dalam penelitian ini merupakan siswa kelas X SMAN 1 Sooko tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Instrumen soal HOTS yang dikembangkan terdiri dari 4 butir soal bentuk uraian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) berdasarkan uji validitas soal HOTS pada tahap expert review didapatkan hasil tingkat kevalidan dari ahli materi 95% termasuk ke dalam kategori “sangat valid”, dan tingkat kevalidan dari ahli konstruksi 90% dengan kategori “sangat valid”. (2) Berdasarkan angket respon siswa pada tahap small group dihasilkan persentase kepraktisan sebesar 89% yang termasuk ke dalam kategori “sangat praktis” dan pada tahap field test dihasilkan persentase kepraktisan soal HOTS sebesar 90% dengan kategori “sangat praktis”. (3) Berdasarkan analisis butir soal dihasilkan uji validitas soal diatas 0,532 sehingga soal termasuk ke dalam kategori “valid”. Kemudian hasil uji reliabilitas diperoleh hasil sebesar 0,55184. Sedangkan untuk taraf kesukaran termasuk dalam kategori sulit, serta daya pembeda 3 soal “kurang baik” dan 1 soal “cukup”. Sehingga kesimpulan yang didapatkan dari penelitian tersebut adalah menghasilkan soal HOTS pada materi looping yang valid, praktis dan layak digunakan.

The purpose of this research is to produce a valid, practical and appropriate HOTS question instrument. The research method used is a research and development method (Research and Development). (2) Based on the student response questionnaire at the small group stage, the percentage of practicality was 89% which was included in the "very practical" category and at the field test stage the practicality percentage of HOTS questions was 90% in the "very practical" category. (3) Based on the analysis of the items, the validity test of the questions above is 0.532 so that the questions are included in the "valid" category. Then the results of the reliability test obtained the results of 0.55184. Meanwhile, the level of difficulty is included in the difficult category, well the distinguishing power of 3 questions "not good" and 1 question "enough". So the conclusion obtained from this research is to produce HOTS questions on looping material that are valid, practical and suitable for use.
