Advisor Miftahur Roifah,S.S,M.A Fairy tale is one of genre in Children literature. fairy tales in children literature is literary writing that is really simple to express the collective unconscious psychic processes. The aims of this study are to discover the motifs of fairy tales that interpreted in novel Black Beauty by Anna Sewell. The discussion is focusing on the utterances and action of the main character and the other character which is showing the motifs of fairy tales that interpret in the novel. The writer applies theory of fairy tales by Marie-Louise von Franz to interpret the elements of fairy tales the main theory. There are three motifs of Fairy tales, those are Shadow, Anima and animus. The theory emphasizes the horses characters which had bad treatment bad parenting from their master the other people. The object of this study is the horses characters. The data analysis of this study used qualitative method by Berg and Howard. The data were collected by the writer himself. In analyzing the data, the writer explored every human and animal relationship and elaborated the motifs of fairy tales in the novel using the question and analyzing data from particulars to general and report that flexible writing structure.rnThe findings of the study revealed the motifs of fairy tales interpreted in children literature. The motifs of fairy tales identified about shadow, anima and animus of horses characters.
