Pd.rnLanguage is a means of communication between one person and another. As social creatures, people cannot live without interacting with others. Communication and language are two things that are related to each other. Sometimes speakers make mistakes in speaking which the error has a specific purpose, it can be intentional unintentional. This phenomenon is called flouting of maxims. This study is intended to discuss the types of flouting maxims purposed by Grice (1975) and the strategy of flouting maxims by Cutting (2002).rnThis study applied qualitative research method. The source of this data is two selected video podcasts on the Deddy Corbuzier channel. The data in this study are utterances uttered in Corbuzier podcast which contain flouting of the maxims of the cooperative principle.rnAfter analysing the podcast, it can be concluded that there are 40 data utterances that contain flouting maxim found in Deddy Corbuzier’s podcast. First, it shows that all the types of flouting are found in Deddy Corbuzier’s podcast, they are maxim of quality is the most flouting with 18 data, maxim of quantity (13 data), maxim of relevance (7 data), and maxim of manner (2 data). Second, there are eight strategies maxim flouting found in the podcast. They are giving too much information (12 data), hyperbole (8 data), changing topic (7 data), metaphor (6 data), irony (2 data), banter (2 data), being obscure (2 data), and at least occurred strategy used in this podcast is giving too little information (2 data).
