Penelitian ini berfokus pada rasisme yang dihadapi tokoh utama bernama Emira Tucker dalam novel Kiley Reid Such A Fun Age. Ada dua tujuan yang dibahas dalam penelitian ini, yang pertama adalah mendeskripsikan jenis rasisme yang dialami oleh Emira Tucker, dan yang kedua adalah menjelaskan bagaimana tokoh utama mengatasi rasisme. Untuk menganalisis penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan teori rasisme dan teori psikologi.rnMetode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif karena penulis mengambil data dari narasi dan percakapan dalam novel. Data yang diperoleh penulis dianalisis berdasarkan masalah penelitian yang telah dipilih untuk mendapatkan jawaban dan hasil yang memuaskan.rnHasil analisis penulis menunjukkan bahwa Emira mengalami empat jenis rasisme, yaitu: rasisme individu, rasisme sistemik, profil rasial, dan rasisme historis. Untuk mengatasi rasisme, Emira menggunakan dua jenis mekanisme koping, yaitu: koping disfungsional dan koping fungsional.

This study focuses on racism faced by the main character named Emira Tucker in Kiley Reid's novel Such A Fun Age. There are two objectives discussed in this study, the first is to describe the type of racism experienced by Emira Tucker, and the second is to explain how the main character does to overcome racism. To analyze this research, the writer uses the theory of racism and psychological theory.rnThe method used in this study is qualitative because the writer takes data from the narratives and conversations in the novel. The data that the writer have obtained analyzed based on the research questions that have been formulated to get suitablernanswer and result.rnThe results of the writer's analysis show that Emira experiences four types of racism, namely: individual racism, systemic racism, racial profiling, and historical racism. To overcome racism, Emira uses two types of coping mechanisms, namely: dysfunctional coping and functional coping.
