Batik merupakan salah satu bentuk karya budaya yang tidak hanya memiliki nilai estetis, tetapi juga mengandung makna simbolik yang merepresentasikan identitas masyarakat pendukungnya. Batik Tulis Soedjono sebagai salah satu bentuk batik khas Lamongan memiliki beragam motif yang merefleksikan unsur budaya, sejarah, potensi alam, serta kehidupan sosial masyarakat Lamongan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konstruksi makna pada motif Batik Tulis Soedjono serta mengungkap bagaimana motif-motif tersebut merepresentasikan identitas Batik Lamongan melalui pendekatan semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce.rnPenelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif-interpretatif. Analisis dilakukan terhadap motif-motif Batik Tulis Soedjono melalui konsep triadik Peirce yang meliputi representamen, objek, dan interpretan. Representamen dianalisis melalui bentuk visual yang terdapat dalam motif batik, objek dikaji berdasarkan unsur budaya, sejarah, lingkungan, dan kehidupan masyarakat Lamongan yang direpresentasikan, sedangkan interpretan dianalisis berdasarkan pemaknaan yang muncul melalui proses interpretasi dalam konteks budaya lokal.rnHasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motif Batik Tulis Soedjono mengandung berbagai tanda visual yang memiliki makna simbolik dan membentuk representasi identitas budaya Lamongan. Setiap unsur motif tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai elemen dekoratif, tetapi juga menjadi media penyampaian nilai-nilai lokal, seperti penghargaan terhadap alam, sejarah daerah, tradisi masyarakat, serta karakter kehidupan sosial masyarakat Lamongan. Hubungan antarmotif membentuk suatu konstruksi makna yang menunjukkan bahwa identitas Batik Lamongan terbentuk melalui proses semiosis yang melibatkan tanda, objek budaya, dan interpretasi masyarakat. Dengan demikian, Batik Tulis Soedjono dapat dipahami sebagai karya budaya yang berperan dalam mempertahankan, menyampaikan, dan merepresentasikan identitas lokal masyarakat Lamongan.

The representamen is examined through the visual elements presented in the batik motifs, the object is analyzed based on cultural, historical, environmental, and social elements represented by the motifs, while the interpretant refers to the meaning formed through interpretation within the cultural context of the Lamongan community.rnThe results of the study indicate that Batik Tulis Soedjono motifs contain various visual signs with symbolic meanings that construct the cultural identity of Lamongan. Each motif does not merely function a decorative element but also serves a medium for conveying local values, including appreciation of nature, regional history, traditions, and the social characteristics of the Lamongan community. The relationship between motifs forms a construction of meaning that demonstrates how the identity of Lamongan Batik is created through a process of semiosis involving visual signs, cultural objects, and community interpretation. Therefore, Batik Tulis Soedjono can be understood a cultural work that plays an important role in preserving, communicating, and representing the local identity of the Lamongan community.
