Fenomena mahasiswa yang bekerja semakin meningkat seiring dengan kebutuhan ekonomi, keinginan memperoleh pengalaman kerja, serta pengembangan kompetensi. Kondisi tersebut menuntut mahasiswa menjalankan peran sebagai mahasiswa dan pekerja secara bersamaan sehingga berpotensi menimbulkan work-study conflict. Salah satu faktor yang diduga dapat membantu mengurangi work-study conflict adalah dukungan sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara dukungan sosial dengan work-study conflict pada mahasiswa yang bekerja. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 385 mahasiswa yang bekerja dan berdomisili di Surabaya, yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan Skala Dukungan Sosial berdasarkan teori Sarafino dan Skala Work-Study Conflict berdasarkan teori Markel dan Frone. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik korelasi Product Moment Pearson. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara dukungan sosial dengan work-study conflict (r -0,486; p < 0,001). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi dukungan sosial yang diterima mahasiswa yang bekerja, maka semakin rendah work-study conflict yang dialami, demikian pula sebaliknya. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa dukungan sosial memiliki hubungan yang bermakna dengan work-study conflict pada mahasiswa yang bekerja. Temuan ini mengindikasikan pentingnya dukungan dari keluarga, teman, dosen, maupun rekan kerja dalam membantu mahasiswa mengelola tuntutan akademik dan pekerjaan secara lebih seimbang

The increasing number of university students who work while pursuing their studies is driven by various factors, including financial needs, the desire to gain work experience, and the development of professional competencies. Balancing academic and work responsibilities may lead to work-study conflict. Social support is considered one of the factors that may help reduce such conflict. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the relationship between social support and work-study conflict among working university students. This study employed a quantitative correlational research design. A total of 385 working university students domiciled in Surabaya were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using the Social Support Scale based on Sarafino's theory and the Work-Study Conflict Scale based on the theory of Markel and Frone. The data were analyzed using the Pearson Product-Moment correlation test. The results revealed a significant negative relationship between social support and work-study conflict (r -0.486, p < .001). These findings indicate that higher levels of social support are associated with lower levels of work-study conflict among working university students, and vice versa. In conclusion, social support is significantly associated with work-study conflict among working university students. These findings highlight the importance of support from family, friends, lecturers, and coworkers in helping students balance academic and work responsibilities more effectively.
