Remaja sebagai individu yang sedang berada pada masa pencarian jati diri cenderung lebih sensitif terhadap lingkungan sosial, termasuk label dan penilaian yang dilekatkan pada sekolahnya. Kondisi tersebut dapat mempengaruhi cara remaja memandang dirinya sendiri serta bagaimana mereka menempatkan diri di lingkungan sosial yang kemudian berpotensi memunculkan berbagai permasalahan seperti rendahnya kepercayaan diri, menurunnya motivasi belajar, dan kesulitan dalam berinteraksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ketidakhadiran ayah terhadap kepercayaan diri pada siswa di SMA Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 275 siswa SMA di Surabaya yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling berdasarkan kriteria siswa SMA yang berdomisili di Surabaya. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji regresi linear sederhana dengan bantuan SPSS versi 22. Berdasarkan hasil hipotesis, diperoleh nilai t hitung sebesar 7.672 dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0.000 < 0.05. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan adanya pengaruh signifikan antara variabel ketidakhadiran ayah (X) dan kepercayaan diri (Y), yang artinya hipotesis pada penelitian ini diterima. Berdasarkan analisis regresi linear sederhana, diperoleh nilai koefisien korelas (r) sebesar 0,462 dengan nilai R square sebesar 0,213 yang artinya ketidakhadiran ayah memberikan kontribusi sebesar 21,3% terhadap varians kepercayaan diri, sementara sisanya di pengaruhi oleh faktor lain.rnKata Kunci : Ketidakhadiran Ayah, Kepercayaan Diri, Siswa SMA

As individuals in the process of forging their identities, adolescents tend to be highly sensitive to their social environment, including the labels and judgments associated with their schools. Such conditions can influence how adolescents perceive themselves and position themselves socially, potentially leading to issues such low self-confidence, diminished academic motivation, and difficulties in social interaction. This study aims to determine the impact of father absence on the self-confidence of high school students in Surabaya. A quantitative approach was employed. The sample consisted of 275 high school students in Surabaya, selected via purposive sampling based on the criterion of residing in the city. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression with SPSS version 22. Hypothesis testing yielded a calculated t-value of 7.672 with a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The analysis revealed a significant influence of father absence (X) on self-confidence (Y), thereby confirming the study's hypothesis. Simple linear regression analysis showed a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.462 and an R-squared value of 0.213, indicating that father absence accounts for 21.3% of the variance in self-confidence, with the remainder attributed to other factors.rnKeywords: Father absence, self-confidence, high school students
