Pembimbing: Prof. Dr. Masduki, M.Pd.rnrnPenelitian ini menganalisis ekspresi metaforis yang digunakan oleh tokoh utama, Wednesday Addams, dalam serial Netflix Wednesday Season 1. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis ekspresi metaforis yang digunakan oleh tokoh tersebut serta mengkaji metafora ideologis yang terkandung di dalamnya. Data penelitian berupa dialog berbahasa Inggris tokoh tersebut pada Episode 1 hingga 8, yang bersumber dari versi streaming resmi Netflix beserta transkripnya. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan dua kerangka teori, yaitu Teori Metafora Konseptual (CMT) yang dikemukakan oleh Lakoff dan Johnson (2003) untuk mengklasifikasikan jenis-jenis metafora, serta teori Metafora Ideologis yang dikemukakan oleh Goatly (2007) untuk mengkaji ideologi metafora yang terkandungdalam ekspresi metaforis tersebut. Hasilpenelitian menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan 61 ekspresi metaforis dari dialog tokoh tersebut sepanjang delapan episode. Dari segi jenis, metafora ontologis merupakan jenis yang paling dominan dengan 25 data, diikuti oleh metafora struktural sebanyak 24 data, dan metafora orientasional sebanyak 12 data. Dari segi metafora ideologis, metafora koersif merupakan kategori yang paling dominan dengan 13 data, diikuti oleh naturalisasi (11), kekuasaan (10), metafora emansipatoris (7), manipulasi (7), reifikasi (7), dan ideologi tersembunyi (6). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa metafora dalam Wednesday Season 1 tidak sekadar berfungsi sebagai gaya bahasa, melainkan menjadi strategi yang secara sengaja membangun pandangan dunia tokoh, mengekspresikan perlawanan terhadap otoritas, serta mengungkap makna ideologis yang tersembunyi dalam wacana media populer.

The study aims to identify the types of metaphorical expressions used by the character and to examine the ideological metaphor conveyed through them. The data consist of the character's English dialogues across Episodes 1–8, taken from the official Netflix streaming version and its transcript. The analysis was conducted using two frameworks: Conceptual MetaphorTheory(CMT)proposed byLakoff andJohnson (2003) to classify the types of metaphor, and the theory of Ideological Metaphor proposed by Goatly (2007) to examine the ideological metaphor conveyed through the metaphorical expressions. The findings show that 61 metaphorical expressions were identified from the character's dialogues across the eight episodes. In terms of type, ontological metaphors were the most dominant with 25 expressions, followed by structural metaphors with 24 expressions and orientational metaphors with 12 expressions. In terms of ideological metaphor, coercive metaphor was the most dominant category with 13 expressions, followed by naturalization (11), power (10), emancipatory metaphor (7), manipulation (7), reification (7), and hidden ideology (6). These findings suggest that metaphor in Wednesday Season 1 functions not merely a stylistic device but a deliberate strategy to construct the character's worldview, express resistanceto authority, and reveal the ideological metaphor embedded in popular media discourse.
