[ Anotasi Abstrak ]
Deskripsi Lain
Driving safety (safety riding) is an important aspect in creating a safe campus environment for motor vehicle users and pedestrians. The Universitas Trunojoyo Madura (UTM) campus has relatively high vehicle movement involving students, lecturers, educational staff, and other road users. This condition may increase the risk of traffic accidents if it is not supported by safe driving behavior and adequate safety facilities. The problems identified are related to the suboptimal implementation of driving safety, particularly in the antecedent aspect, including safety socialization, education, and information media, well the presence of driving behaviors that do not fully comply with safety riding principles. This study aims to develop a proposed safety riding model based on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) regulations and the Antecedent–Behavior–Consequence (ABC) approach at Universitas Trunojoyo Madura.rnThis study employed a descriptive quantitative approach using a survey method through questionnaires distributed to motorcycle users within the UTM campus environment. The respondents consisted of 105 individuals, comprising 100 students, 3 lecturers, 1 educational staff member, and 1 other respondent. The research instrument used a 5-point Likert scale and consisted of 28 statement items grouped into three ABC components: Antecedent (A1–A8), Behavior (B9–B18), and Consequence (C19–C28). The instrument reliability test resulted in a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.955, indicating very high reliability. Data were analyzed descriptively to identify the conditions of each ABC component a basis for developing the proposed safety riding model.rnThe results showed that the Antecedent component obtained a mean score of 3.00, categorized moderate, indicating that this aspect requires the most improvement. The Behavior component obtained a mean score of 3.76 and was categorized high, while the Consequence component also obtained a mean score of 3.76 and was categorized high. In the Behavior component, the use of standard helmets had the lowest mean score of 3.21, while parking behavior had the highest mean score of 4.14. In the Antecedent component, safety riding socialization had the lowest mean score of 2.56, followed by information media such posters and banners with a mean score of 2.78. In the Consequence component, the perception of feeling safe when all users comply with safety regulations had the highest mean score of 4.07, while the implementation of strict sanctions had the lowest mean score of 3.41. Based on these findings, the proposed safety riding model focuses on strengthening the antecedent through safety regulations and policies, socialization and education, information media, and supporting safety facilities; strengthening behavior through habituation of safe driving practices; and strengthening consequence through rewards, supervision, and consistent sanctions. The proposed model is expected to serve a basis for Universitas Trunojoyo Madura in improving driving safety and creating a safer, more orderly, and sustainable campus environment.
