Cabe jamu (Piper Retrofractum Vahl) adalah tanaman herba dan bahan obat asli Indonesia yang tersebar di beberapa provinsi khususnya di Pulau Madura. Kegunaan dari cabe jamu dapat digunakan sebagai obat tradisional dan sebagai bahan makanan, minuman, dan jamu. Kandungan ekstrak cabe jamu meliputi piperin pada bagian akar, sedangkan buahnya mengandung zat pedas piperine, asam palmitat, minyak atsiri, serta komponen yang berpengaruh pada susunan saraf pusat. Penelitian ini bertujuan mencari variabel yang dominan dalam sistem penanaman cabe jamu untuk menentukan strategi peningkatan keberlanjutannya, mengukur nilai indeks di masing-masing dimensi dengan menggunakan metode multiaspect sustainability analysis dan menentukan strategi kebijakan apa yang cocok terhadap masing-masing suatu dimensi. Keberlanjutan dalam konsep penelitian menggunakan metode multiaspect sustainability analysis mengacu pada penilaian dan analisis yang komprehensif terhadap berbagai aspek. MSA merupakan metode yang memungkinkan pengukuran status keberlanjutan secara sistematis dengan mempertimbangkan berbagai faktor dan indikator yang saling berkaitan. Metode ini mengacu pada analisis keberlanjutan yang melibatkan beberapa aspek, seperti ekonomi, lingkungan, teknologi, sosial dan kelembagaan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan total nilai keberlanjutan dalam kondisi yang ada adalah 66,67 dalam kategori (sustainable), aspek teknologi adalah yang tertinggi. Total nilai keberlanjutan dalam kondisi skenario 1 (realistis) adalah 79,55 dalam kategori (very sustainable), aspek ekonomi, teknologi dan kelembagaan adalah yang tertinggi. Total nilai keberlanjutan dalam kondisi skenario 2 (idealistis) adalah 92,16 dalam kategori (very sustainable). Faktor yang mempengaruhi secara keseluruhan pada penelitian ini yaitu keterlibatan dinas perkebunan dan tanaman holtikultura dalam mengelola komoditas cabe jamu dan pemahaman petani terhadap semua aspek yang tertera.

Chili Pepper (Piper Retrofractum Vahl) is a herbaceous plant and medicinal ingredient native to Indonesia spread across several provinces, especially on the island of Madura. The uses of herbal chili peppers can be used traditional medicine and food, drinks, and herbal medicine. The content of herbal chili extract includes piperine at the root, while the fruit contains the spicy substance piperine, palmitic acid, essential oil, and components that affect the central nervous system. This study aims to find the dominant variables in the herbal chili planting system to determine strategies to increase sustainability, measure the index value in each dimension using the multiaspect sustainability analysis method and determine what policy strategy is suitable for each dimension. Sustainability in the research concept using the multiaspect sustainability analysis method refers to a comprehensive assessment and analysis of various aspects. MSA is a method that allows the systematic measurement of sustainability status by considering various interrelated factors and indicators. This method refers to a sustainability analysis that involves several aspects, such economic, environmental, technological, social and institutional. The results of this study show that the total value of sustainability in existing conditions is 66.67 in the category (sustainable), the technological aspect is the highest. The total sustainability value in scenario 1 (realistic) conditions is 79.55 in the category (very sustainable), economic, technological and institutional aspects are the highest. The total sustainability value in scenario 2 conditions (idealistic) is 92.16 in the category (very sustainable). The factors that affect the overall outcome of this study are the involvement of the plantation and horticultural crop service in managing the herbal chili commodity and farmers' understanding of all aspects listed.
