ABSTRAK Penelitan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perlakuan macam pupuk organik dan interval penyiraman terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman Blewah (Cucumis melo L.). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di rumah plastik di Desa Gili Kecamatan Kamal Kabupaten Bangkalan. Waktu penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Desember 2013 - Maret 2014. Penelitian ini disusun secara faktorial dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap yang terdiri dari dua faktor perlakuan yang meliputi: macam pupuk organik (P), terdiri dari 3 level yaitu: pupuk kotoran ayam (P1), pupuk kotoran kambing (P2), dan pupuk kotoran sapi (P3). Interval penyiraman (A), terdiri dari 3 level yaitu: penyiraman 1 hari sekali (A1), penyiraman 2 hari sekali (A2), dan penyiraman 3 hari sekali (A3). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, perlakuan pemberian macam pupuk organik berpengaruh nyata terhadap sebagian besar variabel pengamatan, antara lain panjang tanaman, jumlah daun, luas daun, kandungan klorofil daun, jumlah bunga, jumlah buah, diameter buah, bobot buah segar, bobot biji total bernas, ketebalan daging buah dan tingkat kekerasan buah utuh. Perlakuan interval penyiraman tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap semua variabel pengamatan. Terdapat interaksi antara pemberian macam pupuk organik dan interval penyiraman berbeda sangat nyata terhadap beberapa variabel pengamatan, antara lain jumlah bunga dan jumlah buah pada serta tingkat kekerasan buah yang dikupas.

ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to determine the effect of organic fertilizer and interval of watering to growth and yield of Cantaloupe (Cucumis melo L.). This research was done in plastic house, in the village of Gili Subdistrict Kamal, Bangkalan District.. The research was conducted in December 2013-March 2014. This research was compiled as a factorial using Random Design Complete consisting of two factors: the first factor was organic fertilizer (P), with 3 levels are : chicken manure (P1), goat manure (P2), and cow manure (P3). The second factor was interval of watering (A) with 3 levels : watering once a day 1 (A1), watering every 2 days (A2), and watering every 3 days (A3). The research was results showed, the organic fertilizer treatment give effect variable length, including the observation of plants, number of leaves, leaf area, leaf chlorophyll content, the number of the flower, the number of fruit, fruit diameter, weight of fresh fruit, total seed weight, thickness of pithy flesh of the fruit and the level of violence of the fruit intact. The interval watering treatments had no effect on all variables are real observations. There is an interaction between the granting of different organic fertilizer and watering intervals different variable to some very real observations, among others, the amount of interest and number of pieces as well as the level of violence is peeled fruit.
