Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis sedimen pada tiap stasiun penelitian sehingga dapat diketahui sebaran jenis sedimen di perairan Socah–perairan Kamal. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif yaitu dengan menekankan pada survey lapang, pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara langsung dengan mengambil sampel secara langsung menggunakan bantuan alat Ekman Grab dari atas perahu, sampel sedimen diambil pada 7 stasiun dengan 2 titik pengambilan sampel yaitu pinggir pantai dan tengah laut yang masih dipengaruhi pasang surut. Pola sebaran sand yaitu mulai dari stasiun 2, stasiun 4 dan stasiun 6 dengan prosentasenya 34,472 ‰, sedangkan untuk silt tersebar disepanjang lokasi penelitian mulai dari stasiun 1 sampai stasiun 14 dengan nilai prosentase yaitu 61,698 ‰, untuk clay pola sebarannya tidak merata bahkan prosentase sebarannya sangat kecil yaitu 3,830 ‰.

This study aims to determine the type of sediment of each research station that can be seen in the distribution of the types of sediment in aquatic of Socah Kamal. The method used in this research is descriptive method with emphasis on field survey, sampling is done directly by taking samples directly using Ekman Grab the aid of the boat, sediment samples were taken at 7 stations with 2 points sampling the edge of the beach and the sea which is still tidally influenced. In the Research location the mud is more dominant either based visual analysis results when the sampling and based the laboratory analysis demonstrated. Sand distribution pattern which ranging from station 2, station 4 and station 6 with the percentage 34,472 ‰, while the sludge is spread throughout the study sites ranging from 1 to 14 stations with a percentage value that is 61,698 ‰, for clay uneven spreading pattern even very small percentage of the 3,830 ‰.
