Optimasi merupakan sebuah upaya untuk mencapai hasil yang ideal. Proses distribusi sebagai salah satu kegiatan pemasaran produk berfungsi untuk mempercepat arus barang dari produsen ke konsumen. Optimasi distribusi sebagai salah satu upaya untuk memberikan keuntungan yang optimal dengan cara meminimasi jarak tempuh, biaya dan menjaga kualitas produk sampai ke tangan konsumen. Salah satu metode yang digunakan untuk optimasi distribusi adalah Travelling Salesman problem. Metode ini berprinsip meminimalkan waktu tempuh dan jarak tempuh sehingga meminimalisasi biaya distribusi. Hasil penelitian optimasi biaya distribusi di UD. Budi Jaya Bangkalan menujukkan rute terpendek sebesar 87.70 km dengan waktu tempuh 209.17 menit dan biaya total Rp. 25.614 dan rute terjauh sebesar 118.00 km dengan waktu tempuh 239.54 menit dan biaya total sebesar Rp.27.009 .

Optimization is an attempt to achieve ideal results. Distribution process as one of the marketing activities of products serves to accelerate the flow of goods from producer to consumer. Optimization of distribution as an effort to provide optimal benefits in a way minimizing mileage, cost and maintain the quality of the product reaches the consumer. One method that is used for optimization of distribution is the Traveling Salesman problem. This method principled minimize travel time and distance, so as to minimize distribution costs. Results of research at distribution cost optimization in UD Budi Jaya Bangkalan. shows the shortest route for 87.70 km with a travel time of 209.17 minutes and the total cost of Rp. 25 614 and the farthest of 118.00 km with a travel time of 239.54 minutes and the total cost amounted to Rp.27.009.
