Novel tersebut dipilih karena menggambarkan kehidupan orang Afghanistan yang di California. penelitian ini fokus pada diaspora afghanistan yang digambarkan dalam novel tersebut. tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis tipe dari diaspora Afghanistan dalam novel The Kite Runner oleh KHaled Hosseini dan untuk menganalisis kriteria diaspora dalam novel The Kite Runner oleh KHaled Hosseini. penelitian ini berdasarkan teori diaspora klasik dari Robin Cohen. penulis menggunakan qualitatif deskriptif analisis. peenulis sendiri merupakan kunci utama dan datanya berasal dari narasi dan percakapan dari diaspora Afghanistan pada novel The Kite Runner oleh KHaled Hosseini. Pengumpulan data dilaksanakan dengan data analisis. hasil dari penelitian ini adalah: tipe dari diaspora Afghanistan adalah korban (Victim) diasporakarena meraka terpaksa pindah akibat adanya perang antara Russia dengan Taliban yang membuat mereka mengalami pengalaman buruk yaitukehilangan keluarga, tempat tinggal dan pekerjaan.kriteria dari diaspora Afghanistan adalah terusir dan menyebar, Trauma kolektif, berkembangnya budaya,hubungan yang bermasalah dengan penduduk asli dan mempromosikan gerakan kembali.

In this research, the writer analyzes the novel by Khaled Hosseini entitled The kite Runner.The novel was chosen because it portrays the image of Afghans who live in California. This research is focus on the Afghans diaspora which is portrayed in the novel. The aim of the study is to analyze the type of Afghans diaspora portrayed in KhaledHosseini’sThe Kite Runner and the criteria of diaspora portrayed in KhaleHosseini’sThe Kite Runner. The analysis is based on the classical theory of diaspora from Robin Cohen. The writer use qualitative design in descriptive research to analyze. The writer is the key instrument and the data are the narration and utterances of the Afghans diaspora in novelThe Kite Runner. The data collection was done with the data analysis. The results of the study are: the type of Afghans diaspora is victims diaspora because they are forced to leave after the war between Russia and the Taliban which make them have horrible experiences about the loss of their family, settlement and occupation. The criteria of Afghans diaspora are dispersal and scattering, collective trauma, cultural flowering, a troubled relationship with the majority and promoting a return movement.
