ABSTRAK Plankton merupakan organisme yang banyak ditemukan di perairan Indonesia, salah satunya di perairan Madura tepatnya di perairan kaduara kabupaten pamekasan. Hidupnya plankton mengikuti arus karena plankton tergolong organisme yang pasif. Plankton terdiri dari fitoplankton dan zooplankton, fitoplankton berkembang biak dengan berfotosintesis karena fitoplankton adalah produsen primer. Zooplankton salah satu organisme yang tergolong sebagai produsen sekunder untuk melangsungkan hidupnya zooplankton memanfaatkan fitoplankton. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui struktur komunitas plankton di perairan Kaduara Kabupaten Sumenep dan Faktor Ekologinya. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Maret sampai April 2015. Kemudian dilakukan indentifikasi plankton dan analisa di Laboratorium Ilmu Kelautan Universitas Trunojoyo Madura. Aspek yang diamati adalah hubungan kelimpahan plankton, faktor ekologi dan struktur komunitas. Bahan dan alat yang digunakan adalah sampel plankton 45 ml, lugol, mikroskop, dan corong, Erlenmeyer, kertas saring, pipet 20 ml, pipet 10 ml, dan pipet 1ml, untuk mengukur kualitas air refraktometer, pH-pen, DO-meter, secchidisk. Sampel plankton yang di analisa sebanyak 27 sampel dengan 3 kali titik ulangan. Organisme plankton yang ditemukan 22 genus di perairan kaduara. Jenis plankton yang mendominasi adalah kelas Bacillariophyceae, pada semua stasiun. Nilai rata – rata kelimpahan setiap stasiun A 191999,67-266105,33 ind/l, B 179873,67-475621,33 ind/l), dan C 110484,3-400842 ind/l. tingginya nilai pada stasiun B disebabkan terjadinya pembuangan air tambak udang vaname menuju laut. Dan dipengaruhi oleh faktor ekologinya.
