Bandeng merupakan salah satu jenis ikan penghasil protein hewani dan banyak dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat Indonesia serta memiliki nilai gizi yang tinggi. Ikan ini banyak di budidayakan di wilayah-wilayah perairan payau dan air tawar salah satunya Desa Morowudi Kecamatan Cerme Kabupaten Gresik. Di daerah penelitian produktivitas usahatani bandeng masih sangat rendah jika dibandingkan dengan produktivitas di desa lain maupun di Kabupaten Gresik yaitu dengan rata-rata 0,42 ton/ha. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efisiensi teknis usahatani bandeng dan mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi tingkat inefisiensi usahatani bandeng. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah fungsi produksi Cobb-Douglas dengan pendekatan analisis fungsi produksi frontier stochastic. Variabel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah luas lahan, benih, pupuk urea dan pupuk TSP. Sedangkan untuk variabel yang mendukung tingkat inefisiensi usahatani adalah umur, pendidikan, pengalaman, jumlah tanggungan keluarga, dummy status kepemilikan lahan, dummy sumber pendapatan lain, dan dummy anggota kelompok tani. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa variabel benih berpengaruh signifikan dan bertanda positif terhadap usahatani bandeng. Rata-rata tingkat efisiensi teknis adalah 0,56 yang berarti bahwa usahatani bandeng di daerah penelitian masih belum efisien secara teknis. Sedangkan untuk sumber inefisiensi, variabel umur berpengaruh signifikan dan bertanda positif terhadap tingkat inefisiensi usahatani bandeng. Milkfish is a kind of animal protein producer and consumed by major Indonesian people and has a high value of nutrient. This fish is cultivated greatly in salty water and freshwater zones, one of the cultivation is in Morowudi village, Cerme subdistrict, Gresik regency. In the research field of farmer’s work productivity, milkfish is still very low compared to other village’s productivity as well as in Gresik regency that is 0.42 ton/ha in average. This research is purposed to know te efficiency of milkfish’s farmer’s work technic and to know the factors that influence the inefficiency degree of milkfish’s farmer’s work. The method that be used in this research is Cobb-Douglas production function with analysis approach of frontier stochastic production function. The variables that be used in this research are land wide, seeds, urea fertilizer and TSP fertilizer. Whereas for the variables that are supported the inefficiency degree of farmer’s work are ages, education, experience, ammount of family’s burden, dummy of land owner status, dummy of other income resources, and dummy of member of farmer’s group. Analysis result shows that seeds variable are significantly influential and have positive marked to milkfish farmer’s work. The average of technical efficiency is 0.56, it meansthat milkfish farmer’s work in research zone is not technically efficient yet. Whereas for the inefficiency resource, ages variable is significantly influential and have positive marked to inefficiency degree of milkfish farmer’s work.
