Kepulauan kecil seperti Gili Rajeh dan Gili Labak banyak mempunyai potensi laut, diantaranya adalah terumbu karang. Informasi mengenai persentase penutupan terumbu karang sangat dibutuhkan untuk pengelolaan sumberdaya pesisir dan laut. Penelitian ini mempunyai tujuan: mengetahui bentuk pertumbuhan (Lifeform) dan kondisi terumbu karang melalui persentase penutupan terumbu karang di Pulau Gili Rajeh dan Gili Labak. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada bulan November-Desember 2015 di daerah Windward dan Leeward pada perairan dangkal dan perairan dalam terumbu karang. Metode pengukuran kondisi terumbu karang dilakukan berdasarkan bentuk pertumbuhan (Lifeform) menggunakan metode LIT (Line Intercept Transect) sepanjang 50 meter searah garis pantai. Persentase penutupan terumbu karang hidup Pulau Gili Rajeh di daerah Windward perairan dangkal sebesar 56% (kategori baik), perairan dalam 47% (kategori sedang). Daerah Leeward pada perairan dangkal adalah sebesar 49% (kategori sedang) dan perairan dalam 56% (kategori baik). Sedangkan persentase penutupan terumbu karang Pulau Gili Labak daerah Windward perairan dangkal adalah 30% (kategori rusak) dan perairan dalam adalah 15% (kategori rusak). Daerah Leeward Pulau Gili Labak perairan dangkal adalah 74% (kategori baik) dan perairan dalam 39% (kategori sedang).

Small isles such us Gili Rajeh and Gili Labak have many sea potentials, one of them is coral reefs. Information about the percentage of coral reefs closure is much needed for the management of coastal and marine resources. The aims of this study are: to know the lifeform and condition of coral reefs through the percentage of coral reef closure at Gili Rajeh Island and Gili Labak Island. The collecting data is conducted from November until December 2015 at Windward and Leeward area at shallow waters and deep waters. Method of measuring coral reefs condition is conducted based on the lifeform by using LIT (Line Intercept Transect) method along 50 meters in the direction of the shoreline. The percentage of living coral reefs closure at Gili Rajeh Island in Windward area at shallow waters is 56% (good), and deep waters is 47% (average). Leeward area at shallows waters is 49% (average), and deep waters is 56% (good). Moreover, the percentage of coral reefs closure at Gili Labak Island in Windward area at shallow waters is 30% (damaged), and at deep waters is 15% (damaged). Leeward area at Gili Labak Island at shallow waters is 74% (good), and at deep waters is 39% (average).
