English Study Program of the Faculty of Social and Cultural Sciences, Trunojoyo University . Adivsor: Dr. Masduki. This study focuses on the use of semantic anomaly that are found in rap lyrics by Eminem. This study focuses to explain the types of semantic anomaly, and the data are taken from 45 Eminem’s songs. It also focuses to explain the most frequently type of semantic anomaly, and the reason of the most frequently types of semantic anomaly occurs in lyrics by Eminem. This study is conducted by using a qualitative research.The data of this study are taken from 5 Eminem’s albums. The method of collecting data in this study is conducted by using content analysis, than content several steps: the first step was searching and downloading, the second step was reading, and the third step was grouping and identifying the data. The method of analyzing data are divided into three processes, those are: data reduction, data display, and conclution. In the findings, the writer found 75 datas in Eminem’s rap lyric, the data are classified into three types of semantic anomaly, those are: 9 data are pleonasm, 14 data are dissonance, and 52 data are improbability, and the most frequently type of semantic anomaly occurs in lyrics by Eminem is improbability.
