This study is concerned with patriarchy. Related to the patriarchy, the two research problems are formulated in this study. They are; 1) in what extent Tolvard Helmer’s domination portrayed in the drama. 2) What women’s respond toward Tolvard Helmer’s domination in the drama To accomplish the whole study, Marriage contract is used as the underlying theory. To support the analysis, patriarchy is used as a concept of marriage contract. To elaborate the specific theory, Patriarchy in four structures by Sylvia Walby; there are patriarchal family, patriarchal culture, patriarchal sexuality, and patriarchal male violence are used. Moreover, to know the kinds of patriarchy those occur in the drama used indentifying the characters’ utterances and author’s narrations. Hence, to conduct this study, the qualitative research is used to observe the data which is form of word from the drama by Hendrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that: 1) in Hendrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House male domination are found in four aspect in society; family, culture, sexuality, and male violence. Moreover, marriage contract becomes an institution of women oppression. All of them located women as subordinate people especially for Nora and Mrs. Linde. 2) Women give two responses of male domination; Acceptance and rejection. Firstly, both Nora and Mrs. Linde receive this action. Secondly, in the last eight years her marriage, Nora rejects the action by asking divorce.
