Kulit merupakan organ terluas penyusun tubuh manusia yang terletak paling luar dan menutupi seluruh permukaan tubuh. Karena letaknya paling luar, maka kulit yang pertama kali menerima rangsangan seperti rangsangan sentuhan, rasa sakit, maupun pengaruh buruk dari luar. Pemenuhan kebutuhan akan informasi tersebut sangat dibutuhkan, sehingga dikembangkan suatu aplikasi klasifikasi untuk mengolah dan menyajikan suatu informasi yang dapat membantu dokter untuk dapat mendiagnosis suatu penyakit yang disebabkan oleh gejala-gejala yang dialami, khususnya pada penyakit kulit secara tepat, cepat. Adapun rumusan masalah yang dihadapi penulis berdasarkan latar belakang maka masalah-masalah pada tugas akhir adalah bagaimana menentukan penyakit kulit dan bagaimana metode Decision tree dalam mengambil keputusan untuk menyelesaikan klasifikasi gejala-gejala penyakit kulit. Tujuan dari pengklasifikasi gejala-gejala penyakit kulit adalah untuk mempermudah dalam pencarian solusi obat untuk penyembuhan penyakit kulit yang sedang dialami oleh pasien.
