This study is intended to answer two research questions; what are the classifications of co-indexation as a result of compounding in Time Magazine ‘Holding on For Dear Life’and what are the functions of co-indexation in Time Magazine ‘Holding on For Dear Life’. This study is chosen because it has never been conducted by English Study Program Students of Trunojoyo Madura University and there are a few of people who conduct study about it. It is proved by the less existence of journals about the study. In addition, this study is quite challenging to be analyzed because it has relation with theory of lexical semantics, morpgology, and syntax. This study was conducted by using descriptive qualitative research design. The research instrument of this study was the writer herself. The sources of data are compound words in Time Magazine ‘Holding on for Dear Life’. The data were collected by using observation through note-taking technique. There are 61 data found in this study. They belong to five classifications of co-indexation as a result of compound and two functions of co-indexation. They are attributive compound (47 data), coordinative compound (2 data), and subordinate compound (12 data). There are three functions of co-indexations. Those are concatenation of function (49 data) and subordination of function (12 data).
